A-PILAR COVER

The main objective of this project was to create a cleaner interior while making room for new components.
The A-pillar of the existing truck had exposed steel frames, and various hardware elements were visible.
Additionally, the upgraded control panel was expected to be mounted on the ceiling, so it was necessary to hide all the wires and route them down to the lower part of the vehicle body through the A-pilars.
The audio system inside the truck also needed to be improved.

Checked the dimensions and examined the components that needed to be considered for the design.

There was a possibility of installing a 3" speaker from the Kicker brand near the A-pillar, so I received the speaker through the vendor and tested its size, position, and performance.

Aimed to create a cover extending from the top console to the dashboard. I worked to conceal as much hardware as possible and designed it with consideration for the use of the existing steering wheel.

Integrate the Kicker 3" speaker into the A-pillar and incorporated it into the design. A space was created between the A-pillar and the cover to accommodate a 1” thick wire tube.

The sound waves are reflected directly off the windshield.

The sound waves travel from the D side to the passenger, and from the P side to the driver, filling the space.

Created multiple 3D models and renderings of different concepts based on the sketches and selected the final design.
