GRILL-V1 & V2
As part of the upgrade project for a truck that is over 20 years old, I designed the grill, which can be considered the face of the truck. We aimed to preserve the main framework of the original truck while achieving a significant impact with minimal changes.

Designed a logo with the word "Battle" placed at the center, surrounded by a main body piece, two pieces on each side of the headlight that wrap around and create a continuous flow with the main body, and four accent pieces.
Measured the positions for the holes for the accent pieces and the holes on the front of the car for installation.
Created an installation template indicating the hole positions for the assembly line workers, which helped reduce installation time and improve accuracy. Also worked on adding an accent color to the finished grill to enhance its three-dimensional effect.

Commissioned the thermoforming vendor and collaborated to create the moldings and parts. 3 different moldings and 7 pieces parts.

Created a prototype and installed it on the actual cab to check the specifications. Through a color study, applied various gun-metal gray accent colors to the top surface of the letter logo for comparison, and ultimately derived the final design.

Grill V1 has been successfully completed from design to launch, and now designing the new Grill V2 for the new truck, STRIKER.

Existing single-headlight-based grill concept
New dual-headlight-based grill concept

Given the time and budget constraints, we decided on a new design direction based on the existing single-headlight, and created a 3D model.

Explored various designs not only for the shape and size of the grille but also to accommodate its diverse uses.
Created multiple 3D models and renderings of different concepts based on the sketches and selected the final design.
